Community Association (LSMCA)

Lake San Marcos Community Association (“LSMCA”) is a non-profit membership organization, incorporated under the laws of the State of California. The Association operates exclusively for the Lake San Marcos community betterment.  The address is 1030 La Bonita Drive, Suite 342, San Marcos, Ca 92078.  The association office is open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  The LSM Community Association Office is located two doors down from the Lakehouse Cafe  (formerly Leann’s).   Phone # is 760-744-4306.  You can also email the office at office@lsmca.com

The LSMCA represents Lake San Marcos in discussions and negotiations with the City of San Marcos, the County of San Diego, and the State of California in all matters that are clearly in the interests of the Lake San Marcos Community. The membership of all residents, merchants, and professionals is voluntary, but strongly encouraged. Your membership greatly assists in providing a strong and unified voice for our mutual concerns and community interests.

The annual membership fee for is only $48.00 and is used to support the stated goals as well as maintain a Community Association office and staff.  The office provides members with a copier, facsimile machine, home maintenance referrals, free literature, a community phone book, information on community clubs (approximately 30 clubs), activities, and an exchange library. Further, the Association can provide information on churches, public libraries, bookmobile visits, transit services and much more. The LSMCA operates independently from Citizen’s Development Corporation (CDC) and derives no income from fees paid to CDC by property owners at Lake San Marcos.  Some communities like the new community of Varadero homes, pay the annual memembership dues for their residents.

The nine members of the Lake San Marcos Community Association Board of Directors are unpaid volunteers who are elected from the Association membership. Elections are held annually for approximately half of the positions. Board meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month and are open to the membership. The Association also provides periodic newsletters and hosts periodic “Town Hall” meetings open to all residents. The Annual Meeting is held in November. Again, all residents are welcome to become members.

Over the years, the individual blocks of development within the Lake San Marcos real estate area have resulted in over 22 Homeowners Associations and nearly 2500 homes.  The newest of these areas is Varadero Homes, a gated community of single family San Marcos CA homes for sale at the top of Camino del Arroyo.
