$10,000 CA Tax Credit

The State of California has passed a new credit for qualified first-time home buyers who buy a qualified principal residence from May 1, 2010 through the end of the year.  This would apply to almost all San Diego North County homes for sale.  Escondido homes or Encinitas homes can be mobile homes, manufactured homes, attached homes, condos, or even a houseboat.  Haven’t seen many of those in San Diego North County.

To be a buyer eligible to buy these San Diego North County homes you must be a first-time buyer.  You or your spouse cannot have had an ownership interest in any home, anywhere, in the last 3 years.  You are not eligible if you used the 2009 new home tax credit or if you are under 18.

Applications for these credits are being accepted now by the State.  The State has set aside $100,000,000 for this program, but when the money runs out, so does the program.  It is strictly, first come, first serve.  It is estimated that the money will run out by the end of May.

If you want to get in on this great opportunity you had better get started.  Contact Gary Harmon, your top North County Realtor today.  For more information see California 2010 Tax Credit First Time Buyer.

Tax Man and Escondido Real Estate

YouTubeAfter that solem State of the Union speach last night, I think everyone can use a little humor. If you don’t find this YouTube video funny, you must at least admit this video is creative.  With a little research, I found the music was based on the Beatles song, Taxman. To avoid the tax man, read below.

On of the best ways to avoid the tax man or to save on taxes is to own Escondido Real Estate. If you buy an Escondido home now through April 30, 2010 and close escrow by June 30, 2010 you can take get up to an $8,000 tax credit if you are a new first-time  home buyer. You can use the credit on 2009 or 2010 taxes.  If you are an existing Escondido home owner you can get up to $6,500 as a tax credit for buying an Escondido home. If you own your Escondido home as a principle residence can write off your interest and taxes. If you have Escondido investment property there are many ways to help avoid the taxes. Escondido real estate ownership is still on of the best ways to help avoid the tax man.

Escondido Homes: To Buy or Rent?

After getting four calls today from clients wanting  Escondido rentals and other San Diego North County rentals, I though I should address the subject,” to buy or to rent.”    At one time or another, two question cross the minds of most renters.

  • Should I be buying an Escondido home or moving into an Escondido rental?
  • Could I afford to buy a San Diego North County home even if I wanted to?

If you are a renter and are considering your options about buying or continuing to rent your Escondido home, consider these steps.  Ask yourself why you are considering making a change.

  1. Are you thinking of settling down from a life on the move where renting in the past had just seemed to be less restrictive than owning your own Escondido property?
  2. Do you have a growing family that needs more room than a reasonably priced Escondido rental would afford?
  3. Have you seen a steep increase in your monthly rent of your Escondido home?
  4. Have you started thinking about the merits of owning the American Dream.
  5. Are your friends getting large first-time tax credits for buying their own San Diego North County home.

These are all good reasons for looking into Escondido home ownership.  Tomorrow we will take a close look at what home ownership means and how it is different than living in a San Diego North County rental.   For more information on Escondido rentals or San Diego North County rentals, contact Gary Harmon, your Escondido Realtor.

Carlsbad Homes, A Great Place to Live

One of the communities I serve, other that the Escondido real estate area is the community of Carlsbad.  Carlsbad homes go from cottage to castle and offer something for everyone.  I have ask a guest writer to write a Carlsbad homes article for my blog that I hope you will find enjoyable.   Wyatt Fisk  wrote the article for my main website,  http://www.HomeInfoSanDiego.com.
Residents of Carlsbad, a city in North San Diego County, California, have always prided themselves with the city’s thrust of protecting and nurturing the environment. Its beaches along its almost seven-mile coastline are ample proof of this love for nature. In Carlsbad, development can coexist with preservation, even in attractions such as shopping centers, spas and world-class golf courses.

The city is touted as a premier vacation destination, thanks in part to the various attractions that dot the city, including Carlsbad beaches like the South Carlsbad State Beach, the Carlsbad State Beach and North Carlsbad beaches that are managed by the California State Parks Department. One attraction that you shouldn’t miss while living in Carlsbad homes is Legoland, an amusement park focused on Lego bricks.

The city may be a good destination but is it also a great place to call home? If you consider all the fun you can have by staying longer in Carlsbad homes, then the answer is definitely yes. A few days or even a week is not enough time to truly enjoy Carlsbad’s scenic beauty, which includes a thousand acres or more of nature preserves, parks and lagoons linked by hundreds of hiking trails.

Carlsbad isn’t simply a city of leisure, it’s also a city of business. Carlsbad is the proud home of top sporting goods companies like Cobra Golf, TaylorMade, Callaway Golf Company and K2 Sports. Those interested in staying indefinitely in Carlsbad homes may rest easy knowing that fitness is also a thrust of companies, like 24 Hour Fitness, that have made the city their home.

Clearly, getting work isn’t a concern for those who are looking at purchasing Carlsbad homes. Education is also excellent in Carlsbad, particularly if you take into consideration the city’s 27 public and private schools, both elementary and intermediate. To aid students in their studies, the city has two libraries: the Georgina Cole Library and the Carlsbad City Library.

Due to the good education and business climate, the city has drawn the attention of reputable persons to Carlsbad homes as residences of choice. World champion skater Tony Hawk, for one, has seen merit in going back to the city of his birth. If the thought of spending an indefinite length of time in Carlsbad doesn’t appeal to you, maybe checking out properties in two other San Diego County cities might interest you – Oceanside homes for sale and Vista CA homes for sale.

Carlsbad is a city in the northern part of San Diego County in California. Its most prominent feature is a long coastline where thousands of surfers hone their skills and more than ten times that number of residents and tourists get their tan every year. If this idea does not convince you to move into Carlsbad homes, try searching for Oceanside homes for sale or Vista CA homes for sale.
