 If you are in the militiary, Navy, Marines, Army, Air Force, or Coast Guard and have just received a permanent change of station to San Diego, this website is designed to help you find San Diego Off-Base Housing and to give you a military discount to help you afford to buy. You may also be elgible for the first-time home buyer tax credit extension. Although the first-time tax credit expires for many San Diego North County buyers, April 30, 2010 there is an extension for some. This special extension rule applies to members of the U. S. Armed Forces who are serving on extended duty. These members receive an extra year to buy a principal residence and qualify for the homebuyer tax credit. They must be in contract by April 30, 2011 and close on the purchase by June 30, 2011.
Consider yourself lucky because as you will soon find out, San Diego County is one of the nicest places in the world to be stationed.
