Oceanside Real Living Lifestyles: Just to the north of Carlsbad and about 37 miles from Downtown San Diego is the city of Oceanside. This city also runs along the Pacific Ocean and spreads inland for many miles. Oceanside is home to our militiary heroes. Camp Pendleton is the largest marine training facility and the busiest military base in the United States. Oceanside has great beaches, beautiful Oceanside Harbor, and the famous Oceanside Pier. In the northern area of Oceanside is the San Luis Ray River valley and Mission San Luis Ray which was established in 1798.
