$1,000,000 Mortgage Protection Program
This summer the C.A.R. Housing Affordability Fund is developing a Mortgage Protection Program with the purpose of restoring confidence in first-time buyers of California real estate listings. It is estimated that this program, funded with over $1,000,000, will help over 3000 California first-time buyers including many who buy San Diego North County homes. This program will apply to buyers who buy North County homes between April 2, 2009 and December 31, 2009. This new program tries to remove common objections such as follows: What if I loose my job, what if I become disabled, or what if the buyer or co-buyer dies?
$1,500 a Month for 6 Months
The C.A.R. Housing Affordability Fund allows first-time buyers to enroll in the new program and to draw upon the funds set aside in case they loose their job, or worse, after they purchase their North County home. Under the new program, first-time buyers that qualify will be eligible to receive $1,500 per month for six months in the event of a job loss. Co-buyers would be able to receive $750 per month. If there was a death of either of the insured, the new policy could provide a $10,000 death benefit.
