After 21 years of  selling  San Diego North County homes, Gary Harmon has moved to Real Living Lifestyles.    Real Living is a full-service, international real estate franchise company with a comprehensive suite of resources aimed at helping brokers, agents and their clients successfully navigate through the home buying and selling processes.   Real Living Lifestyles is our local San Diego franchise name.

The first step of this actual journey started in January 2011 when Gary joined the powerful Hadley Home Team.  This team has worked well together, resulting in the team being ranked 4th in number of units sold for Prudential California Realty in the first quarter of 2011.  When the team decided to move to the high energy company of Real Living Lifestyles, naturally Gary chose to go along. 

The leadership and the agents in Real Living Lifestyles are not new to Gary.   Real Living Lifestyles, formerly Windermere Exclusive Properties, is led by partner and president, Steve Rodgers.  Steve was one of Gary’s first managers at Prudential California Realty and had a lot of influence on his career.  Gary was privileged to watch Steve grow from a Prudential manager to president of Prudential California Realty.  Much of Prudential’s growth was the result of his leadership.   Gary is looking forward to working with Steve and the Real Living Lifestyle agents to continue to grow  Real Living Lifestyles.  Many of these agents at Real Living Lifestyles are also good friends and fellow agents that Gary has worked with in the past.

Improve your chance of selling with a bathroom remodel.

The Bathrooms in Carlsbad homes for sale are one of the most important rooms to have looking good. The following should help:

  • It must be kept odor free. Carlsbad real estate that has a smell is Carlsbad real estate that doesn’t sell.
  • Check out leaking faucets or corroded faucets. Don’t try to repair since replacements aren’t expensive.
  • Check the toilet stool. Cleanliness is next to Godliness in this room. Also make sure it is securely fastened to the floor.
  • If the toilet stool seat is chipping or worn, replace it.
  • Make sure towel racks and toilet paper dispensers of your Carlsbad home are secured to the wall.
  • If there is clutter on the vanities, put it away or in baskets.
  • Clean all the soap scum from the shower glass and floor of your Carlsbad home.
  • Caulk around sinks, tubs, and showers in your Carlsbad house.
  • Make sure the mirror is clean. If it is old and peeling, replace it.
  • Add pretty towels to all the towel racks.

The Big Bay Boom July 4th Fireworks Show is back for its eleventh year, promising another spectacular display over San Diego Bay.

Fireworks Locations & Best Viewing Areas

Fireworks will be discharged simultaneously from barges placed strategically around the Bay off Shelter Island, Harbor Island, North Embarcadero and Chula Vista. Fireworks also will be discharged at the Imperial Beach Pier.

It all starts at 9 p.m. on July 4. The fireworks will be accompanied simultaneously by music broadcast live on 105.7 The Walrus FM radio. The show also will be televised live on San Diego FOX 5 HD and Cox 4 HD, covered by four remote cameras and a helicopter. The impeccably choreographed display will last approximately more than 17 minutes.

May 2011 San Diego North County Home Statistics

The June 2011 HomeDex™ Report provides May 2011 San Diego housing statistics.   Information in this report is used by permission from the North San Diego County Association of Realtors®  (NSDCAR).   Gary Harmon, your Real Living Lifestyles  Realtor, has been a member of NSDCAR for over 20 years.

 The median price for all North County home sales – attached and detached – remained constant from last month at $380,000 in May 2011.

  •  Detached homes in North County rose slightly by 2.22 percent from $450,000 in April 2011 to $460,000 in May 2011.  Median price has moved up and down monthly this year, with no sustained positive or negative trend. However, year-over median SFD price of San Diego North County homes decreased 3.46 percent from $476,500 in May 2010, continuing a four month trend of year-over price declines (following an 18-month trend of increases in median price).
  •  The number of SFD listings (active and contingent) increased 3.40 percent in May 2011 from April 2011; listings have increased during each month of 2011. Listings were up 9.27 percent year-over from May 2010.
  •  The number of sold North San Diego County homes SFD units decreased 6.7 percent in May 2011 from April 2011, following three months of increases.
  • Median days-on-market for single-family detached homes in North County decreased to 47 days in May 2011 from 50 days in April 2011, the lowest level this year.
